From the "Imus in the Morning Show" on 66 WNBC radio, here's Imus with cast member Rob Bartlett. Rob, as Sal Monella, tells his version of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas". Rob would repeat this story through the years, as the Imus show added video. But this is an early telling of the tale. A WNBC radio exclusive from 1987.

Happy 15th anniversary to this random video that appeared on my recommendations.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: there is detailed footage from 9/11 that is kept from the public to protect next of kin. Look at the detail in this footage! And during that infamous Tuesday, the choppers would have flown much closer.
WNBC 66 lasted nearly 66 years.
I really wish here in Brazil the analog goodbye was something like this. The stations kept for 2 months a card with instructions, and the suddenly the signals gone
Really can’t fathom how bad it must have been inside the towers for those trapped to make them believe the only option is to jump….
0:08 November 2 1988
2:43 The North Tower didn’t have those white things in the roof during the 90’s.
What white things? The small dishes at the base of the tower are microwave dishes used by the broadcasters and were there all along. The dozens of whip antennas mounted on the flat deck of the roof were also there for a long time. Two-way radio antennas.
@@kiotr2009No, the 5 like that are connected from the antenna
man that outro was fire.
And ironically, Howard Stern outlived both Don Imus & WNBC. 📻
I scared wnbc tv analog sign off as fuck I meant
I guess the scientific models placing the earth at the center of the universe is still true, and the sun still revolves around the earth. At least it was true for about 1,000 years….until it WASN’T!
Who remembers WFAN replaced by WNBC
Roger Grimsby stayed on Channel 4 two years
I'd prefer Roger Grimsby on WABC-TV instead of WNBC-Tv
Apparently, WABC-TV didn't. They fired him.
As a millenial i felt unaffected by the shutdown until the station jingles and the logos flashed. For some reason it gave me goosebumps and it got stuck in my head for a while. If you had grown up watching NBC and saw this, as an old person you will feel sentimental and emotional at the same time.
When I first saw this as a kid I thought the entire station had signed off for good but then I realized it was just the analog signal 😂
R.I.P NBC Snake 1965 goodbye!!!
STOP HIDING IN THE COMMENTS, GET BACK UP THERE AND FACE THE GOODBYE MESSAGE!!!
Goodbye Wnbc new york we will see you in the digital world
They really went for the it
WNBC continued to air showing DTV instructional videos on a loop before finally shutting off the transmitters on June 23rd
Ira Joe was 42 here.
Am i the only one annoyed that they only built one tower ? Even though it looks nice , It just looks off ...
I was in my car driving through New Have, Ct. coming home from work. I listened to Alan Colmes sign off and The Fan signing on but I can't remember who was the first host. Maybe Mike + The Mad Dog show. You know, come out of the gate w/the big guns.
Out of all the analog shutdowns, this is the best one.
Ah this would take place on june 26th 2009 Rip wnbc analog tv july 1st 1941 - june 26th 2009
That part 1:54-1:57 that iconic chime sounds like N B C!
WOW what a send off anyone that votes for making a peaceful protest to bring analog television say i
Cleveland, Ohio connections: Imus in the Morning was 1st on Cleveland's WGAR AM 1220. Al Roker forecasted the weather on WKYC, an NBC O&O at the time. WNBC recruited him from there.
"I can't believe he didn't cry during Titanic! Do boys even have feelings?" Boys:
That familiar hum every time I watch footage of that antenna.
I'm going to guess that you are a Libra.

Why does the start sound like 2018
You mean, it sounds ahead of its time? The track is from 1977.
Yeah but just why does it sound like a news report from 2018
The sounder? What? I don't understand what you're getting at, but this presentation is better than ANY that is done today, or in 2018.
